Children eye exams

Children need special consideration when it comes to eye exams. 80% of learning is visual and as such children need to have annual exams once they start school. We are fortunate living in Ontario in that the provincial government still covers eye exams annually for children.

The screenings done in the school are not comprehensive enough to replace a full exam. We provide an inviting and fun environment for your children. Your child should have their first eye exam at 6 months old and then every year from 3 years of age to check for visual problems. Children's eyes can change quickly and very often children may not be aware they are having problems. Vision problems do not just include blurry vision but may involve poor focusing, unbalanced muscles, poor depth perception, and color vision defects to name a few.

If your child does need glasses, our dispensary has a variety of glasses for your children to pick from and we will ensure that your child’s first experience with glasses is positive one
